Last week the Royal Wedding took place. Whether you cared or not, it was all over social media. There were posts by people on both sides. Some were gushing and some were mocking. There were those debating about the details that went into it. Some thought it was elegantly simple and others thought it was simply horrific (I only know these things because of conversations I overheard by others).
The thing that so struck me is that people care so much about this event. People care about the wedding, but can tell you nothing about the British political system. They care about the royal family, but haven't the slightest clue about European culture. I am honestly unsure about the hysteria, but if that's your thing then more power to ya.
While we may enjoy royal entertainment, yy encouragement is that we'd be obsessed with true royalty. The King of Kings gave His life to purchase His bride for Himself. What a story! Not only that, before He went to such an extreme, the bride was His enemy. She hated Him and wanted nothing to do with Him. How scandalous! Yet, He made the greatest sacrifice to show His love and receive hers in return. She was going after everyone but Him, but He was not satisfied without her. After His death and miraculous resurrection they will now live together forever!
Now that's a royal story worth getting obsessed over. May we never tire of being obsessed with the Groom who gave everything for us!
